I remember when I first heard this song and I was more mesmerized by the melody than the lyrics at first. It was like I was captivated by the music and couldn't break away for long enough to listen to the words. The music reaches deeper somehow for me for this song. When a song you connect with captivates you with both the lyrics and a simple but beautiful melody, I think many will agree this is the formula for a powerful piece of music.
